5th wheel Trailer Transport Guide Shipping a 5th wheel trailer saftey check:
Check your fifth wheel trailer's tires. Look for cracking, dry rot, bulges, tears, as well as anything that might appear abnormal. Check air pressure. Your tire air pressure should be at tire manufacture air pressure. If tires are too low, the tire could explode in transport causing a blow out. Has your 5th wheel rv trailer's wheel barings been greased lately? It is very important to have your 5th wheel trailer barings greased. If unsure, it is best to have your barings greased. A few dollars to have a mechanic come out and grease your barings could save thousands later. Trailer Lights: Do your trailer lights work? All lights on an RV Trailer should work while in transport. If you have no way to test them because you do not have a truck that can hook up to your trailer, please ask a neighbor or a friend that has a pickup with rv plug to check them for you. Or, call a local mechanic to come check out your trailer. Sometimes lights do not work even with new bulbs. Corosion may be in the casing causing the light fixture not to be grounded properly. A simple wire brush will fix that. Also, your light covers should be clean, not cracked and mounted and secure.
